There's no question that "Stratford" and "food" are as
synonymous with each other as "Stratford" and "festival". Now,
we have a couple feature shows on Food Network Canada that
showcase our beautiful city and the talent within.
Fink, is a program that follows the adventures of Paul
Finkelstein and his students of Northwestern Secondary School's
culinary club, as they learn about food (and themselves) through
the successful management of the school's Screaming Avocado Café.
For more photos and information
about host Paul Finkelstein, show times, and recipes from the
shows, go to the
Fink page at Food Network Canada.
Chef School is billed as a 13-part "docu-soap" (aka reality
show) that documents the trials and tribulations of twelve
Stratford Chef School students, of various ages and from all
walks of life, as they discover whether they have what it takes
to survive the rigors of chef-dom.
Visit the
Chef School page at Food
Network Canada for photos, show times and featured
recipes.
Rick Mercer, of CBC's The Mercer Report, visited the Stratford Chefs
School late in 2007. To view the resulting hilarity that ensued
as he and friend Sheila McCarthy lent their "talents" to the
school's meal prep for a day, see below.
